The conveyor rubber scraper, also known as a conveyor belt cleaner or belt scraper blade, is an essential wear-resistant accessory installed at the head, tail or return side of belt conveyors. Its core function is to scrape off sticky, wet, granular or bulk material residues adhered to the surface of conveyor belts, preventing material carryback.

Structure & Raw Materials

It is generally composed of two parts:

1. Rubber scraping blade: The working contact part touching the conveyor belt. - EPDM rubber: Excellent anti-aging, ozone resistance, wear resistance, resistant to water, weak acid and weak alkali, the most common general-purpose type. - Natural rubber: High elasticity, good fit with belt surface, low cost for light-duty working conditions. - Neoprene rubber: Outstanding oil resistance, suitable for conveying oily materials. Hardness is customized according to working conditions to balance scraping effect and belt protection.

2. Mounting bracket: Metal holder used to fix the rubber scraper on the conveyor frame, adjustable for contact pressure between the blade and belt.

Main Types by Installation Position

1. Primary Scraper (Head Scraper) Mounted directly under the head pulley of the conveyor. It removes most bulk residual materials on the carrying side of the belt with strong scraping force, undertaking the main cleaning task.

2. Installed behind the primary scraper for secondary cleaning, clearing fine sticky dust and tiny residual particles that the primary scraper cannot remove completely.

3. Return Belt Scraper Fitted on the return run of the conveyor belt, clean scattered materials falling onto the inner side of the return belt, preventing materials from entering roller bearings and causing equipment jamming or abrasion.

4. Plough Discharge Scraper (Side Discharge Scraper) Used for fixed-point unloading on the middle section of the conveyor, pushing materials sideways to complete diversion and discharging.
