What is DIN Standard? Overview of Continental Rubber Conveyor Belt DIN Compliance

October 2, 2026

DIN refers to German Industrial Standards, one of the most recognized technical specifications for heavy-duty conveyor belts worldwide and the core manufacturing & testing benchmark adopted by Continental rubber conveyor belts. Continental fabric ply belts mainly comply with DIN 22102 while steel cord belts follow DIN 22131.

DIN sets mandatory test thresholds for belt tensile strength, rubber abrasion resistance, elongation, dynamic fatigue, splice efficiency, flame safety and tear resistance. Different from static tests, DIN focuses heavily on dynamic load testing, simulating 24-hour continuous impact and bending in mining to verify long-term service reliability.

All heavy-duty Continental conveyor belts pass lab tests according to DIN specifications before delivery. Steel cord belt splice efficiency, cover abrasion and impact resistance meet DIN requirements. For overseas mining and port EPC projects, DIN-certified Continental belts help satisfy owner technical specifications and reduce acceptance risks. Many international EPC contracts list DIN as mandatory entry requirement for conveyor belts.
